Clarens is a countryside quite town rich in natural resources and bursting with agriculture activities. Clarens is also known for its central geographical location with breathtaking natural beauty, top rated accommodation, world renowned art galleries, niche restaurants, unique shops and outdoor activities galore.
Because of the heritage and the assets Clarens has, home owners, businesses and residents many years ago embarked on a Sector Police Forum (SFP).This non profit entity consists of volunteers who serve the local community and maintain its reputation as a safe and crime free tourist destination. In order to supplement donor funding efforts towards SPF, the Macnollie Challenge was launched.
The Clarens SPF Macnollie Challenge allows teams especially corporate ones with members of up to 26 to complete three disciplines.These include shooting a Mountain Reedbuck or shooting an Impala, shooting a Grey-wing Francolin or shooting clay pigeons and catching a Trout, all this within a time frame of 12 hours.
Individual overall winners walk away with great prizes such as hunting an Eland and Black Wildebeest for the first prize, hunting an Eland for the second prize and hunting a Black Wildebeest for the third prize. Individual category winners are also in line to win, Fishing category has weekend fishing in the Clarens area with accommodation included,Target shooting has hunting an Eland as the prize while Clay pigeon shooting offers weekend pigeon shooting in the Clarens area with accommodation included.
